Jewelry Party

These past few weeks I have been cleaning through my jewelry box and noticed I have a lot of jewelry I am not using.  Most of it is real gold and fashion jewelry.  I am more now a fashion jewelry gal since you can dress your wardrobe along with your accessories. Don't get me wrong I not giving up my 14kt gold jewelry.  I could pass it down to my kids, just like some of the pieces my Mom did for me.  My co-worker is having a Jewelry Party this weekend and wanted some cupcakes. So of course my jewelry box was my inspiration.

This is what I came up with.

Cornbread Cupcakes with Honey Frosting

When I left the Caribbean to move to the south some of the food choices like grits, chicken and waffles, and collard greens was not very appetizing to me. It took a while for me to get accustomed to the South recipes but I am getting there. When it came to cornbread it depends on the person making it. I not a die hard fan of cornbread but create it in some of sort of dessert, I am a Southern girl all the way :).

Kellogg's has a take on cornbread cupcakes I just added a twist by adding grated cheddar cheese, and two tablespoons of corn to the batter. I also added some mascarpone cheese to the frosting.

Let's Play Golf

Last night I made vanilla cake pops that looked like golf balls.  I had a blast making them, because they actually look like golf balls.  But I took it to another step to make it look like a golf bag with golf balls.  As I scrolled down my favorite craft store - Michaels, I came across a big white ceramic mug.  And then my mind start flooding on how to decorate it.  But I kept it simple and went straight to the sticker section and picked up some 3-D vinyl stickers.  And there I had it, golf cake pops.  This is a perfect gift for Dad who loves golf on Fathers Day!

Blueberry Scones

Last weekend I made some scones.  My fiance loves scones, the last time I made some strawberry scones and he ate majority of them.  Everyday he ask when you going to make some scones again. So I decided to surprise him and make some scones with his favorite fruit, blueberries.

I counted the batch I made and it was eighteen scones.  Between my kids and myself we had eight, yes he ate the other ten by himself throughout the day.  But can you blame him, don't they look scrumptious?
